Matt Swartz is a Philadelphia-based economist. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania, where he also completed his undergraduate work.
Matt works as an economist for Comcast by day, but moonlights using his economics training to analyze baseball. Matt has worked for the Washington Nationals as a consultant since 2013, and has published about baseball online since 2008. In the baseball world, he is most widely known as the creator of MLB Trade Rumors’ arbitration salary projections.
Matt has worked as an in-house economist at Comcast in Cable Finance since 2018. Prior to that, he worked as an in-house economist at Cigna from 2012-18, and also held roles at Apprise and the Department of Labor.
